What is the most recent Manchester United transfer rumor?

So far this summer, the Red Devils have made big-money signings for Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund. There could be further action before the September 1 deadline, but it will depend on any Old Trafford departures.

If a lot of players go, a new midfielder might be on the way, with Sofyan Amrabat and Amadou Onana both widely connected with a move to Erik ten Hag’s side.

Gravenberch was another player that piqued United’s interest earlier this year, and it appears that United may be interested again.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United, and Liverpool have “reactivated the track leading to the Dutch international.” According to the article, no offers have been made so far; nonetheless, Gravenberch would prefer a move to Old Trafford over Anfield if he were to leave Munich.

Who exactly is Ryan Gravenberch?

Gravenberch is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2027 and can play as a center or holding midfielder. The Netherlands U21 international joined Bayern Munich from Ajax barely a year ago and has made 33 appearances for the Bundesliga winners.

Prior to that, Gravenberch, who earns £152,000 a week, made over 100 appearances for Ajax and has had plenty of first-team experience.

He’s also received accolades from former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who said last year that Gravenberch was “better than most other footballers,” saying:

“He has my complete trust.” He also knows exactly what he needs to do to fit our style of play. He has everything a football player requires. He has a great dribble and can play under pressure.

“Ryan is better than most other footballers his age in Europe.” You must be patient. Bayern Munich is the name. You must outperform the other players since there is no reason for me to not field the best.”

As a result, if Man United misses out on Amrabat or Onana, a move for Gravenberch may be one to watch and a potentially clever move by Old Trafford executives.

He should improve with age, and he has already worked under Ten Hag in the Netherlands, with all of his Ajax outings coming under the United manager.

According to FBref, the 6ft 2 midfielder has been compared to Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham during the last 12 months and has also impressed statistically.

Gravenberch has placed in the top 10% of midfielders for tackles in the midfield and attacking zones, shot-creating actions, and long pass completion, demonstrating his versatility in a variety of positions. Ten Hag may see the midfielder as a great acquisition to challenge the likes of Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Christian Eriksen, so keep an eye on him.
