The Athletic initially reported the provisional agreement on Sunday, outlining that Sevilla has the option to make the transfer permanent in the summer for €20 million, inclusive of add-ons.

Additionally, United has secured a fixed buy-back clause and a sell-on clause for the talented 20-year-old midfielder.

Hannibal underwent his medical at Sevilla on Monday, formalizing his transition to the La Liga side currently grappling with a challenging season, just one place and one point above the relegation zone in Spain’s top flight.

If the deal is finalized, Manchester United stands to gain a substantial return on their investment in Hannibal, whose contract is set to expire in 2025.

The inclusion of a buy-back option provides United with a level of influence over the future of the Tunisian international.

Having joined United in 2019 from Monaco, Hannibal has accumulated 13 first-team appearances for the club, with 10 of them occurring this season, including a noteworthy start in the Premier League victory against Burnley in September.
