The Red Devils, who remain fifth in the rankings, one point behind the top four, will enter the game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday, while Brighton won 2-0 over struggling Watford on the same day.

Man United’s woes continued on Saturday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton. The Red Devils took the lead in the first half through Jadon Sancho before Che Adams equalized for the Saints in the early parts of the second period.

It was the Red Devils’ second league match in a row in which they led before surrendering early in the second half, and it was another 1-1 draw for Ralf Rangnick’s side, who are fifth in the table, one point behind fourth-placed West Ham, who drew with Leicester City on Sunday.

Arsenal is only a point behind Manchester United with two games remaining, so the 20-time English champions need to start winning if they are to finish in the top four, even if West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur both dropped points over the weekend.

The Red Devils have only lost one league match since Rangnick’s appointment as interim manager, but they have won just two of their previous six in England’s top flight, and Cristiano Ronaldo has not played for the club since a 3-1 win over Burnley at the end of December.

Man United is entering a crucial period of the season, as they face bitter rivals Leeds United in the league next weekend before traveling to Atletico Madrid for the first leg of their last-16 Champions League game on February 23, as well as a Manchester derby at the start of March.

Brighton, as previously stated, defeated Watford 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, thanks to goals from Neal Maupay and Adam Webster, lifting the Seagulls into ninth place in the rankings.

Graham Potter’s team has won seven, drawn twelve, and lost four of their 23 league games this season, with only the top three – Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea – losing fewer matches in England’s top-flight during the 2021-22 season, indicating how impressive they have been.

Brighton is only three points behind eighth-placed Tottenham and six points ahead of 11th-placed Aston Villa, putting them in a strong position to finish in the top half, which would be a remarkable achievement for a team that has finished 15th, 17th, 15th, and 16th since being promoted to the Premier League by finishing second in the 2016-17 Championship.

The Seagulls have only lost once on the road in the Premier League this season, which is tied with Man City’s record, and they are unbeaten in their past seven in England’s top tier, having last lost at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the middle of December.

Brighton, on the other hand, has lost their last six matches against Manchester United in all competitions, including a 2-1 setback at Old Trafford last season.
