The Portuguese International scored his 700th club career goal in Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Everton at the Goodison Park.

Supporters were expecting to see him perform his iconic “Siuu” celebration, but the striker chose a new way to mark the milestone.

While many fans just assumed this was nothing more than an expression of relief having finally scored his first Premier League goal of the season, others assumed it was a jibe at having been sat on the bench for so long.

Turns out, it’s actually a bit of an inside joke within the squad.

It has been revealed on the club websit that it was a reference to the many naps Ronaldo takes during the day, and the position he sleeps in, something which has been picked up on by his team-mates.

Manchester United currently sit in fifth position on 15 points after eight games with a game in hand on everyone above them apart from Chelsea.
