Alejandro Garnacho, a Manchester United kid, has uploaded a strange Instagram picture with four separate images of himself alongside both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The teenager, who joined United from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, had a fantastic 2021/22 season, putting in a number of outstanding displays. He was a force in the club’s first FA Youth Cup victory in more than a decade, scoring seven goals and earning three assists in six games, including two in the final against Nottingham Forest.

His performances at the youth level earned him his first-team debut, coming off the bench in the final minutes of United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford in April. On the final day of the season, he also made an appearance against Crystal Palace.

Garnacho had the opportunity to rub shoulders with Messi while on international duty with Argentina prior to making both professional debuts for United. The teenager received a surprise call-up to the squad in March, and while he did not play, the experience was vital to him.

He has now made his debut for Argentina’s Under-20 team, scoring four goals to help Argentina finish fifth in the Toulon Tournament. However, his selection to the senior squad means he is one of just a handful players to have trained alongside both Messi and Ronaldo.

The two are widely regarded as the best players of all time, therefore training or playing with either of them will be regarded as a treat for any young player. Garnacho made his debut alongside Ronaldo in the closing stages of the draw with Chelsea.

Garnacho has shown his adoration for Ronaldo by imitating his memorable ‘Siuuu’ celebration in the Youth Cup final. On social media, he has regularly referred to the United striker as the ‘GOAT.’

As a result, while he has not specified what his latest Instagram post signifies, it appears that Garnacho is honored to have spent time learning and training beside both Ronaldo and Messi. The youngster will have received significant experience and will be aiming for more during the 2022/23 season, most likely from Ronaldo.

A number of United fans are hoping that manager Erik ten Hag would include Garnacho in his first-team plans for next season, as the teenager is regarded as one of the most intriguing players to come out of the academy in recent years.

Following the triumph over Forest last month, Under-18s manager Travis Binnion remarked of Garnacho’s qualities: “That kid could be at any stadium on the planet and not care. That’s his personality, and a few of them are like that, which is why they’ll have successful careers.”
