One of the three individuals who had accused Manchester United star Antony of violent conduct has reportedly withdrawn their complaint.
A recent report states that one of the three women who had leveled accusations of violent behavior against Antony, the 23-year-old Brazilian international footballer, has decided to drop their case.
Antony stands accused of allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, on four separate occasions. This matter is under investigation by law enforcement in both Sao Paulo and Manchester. Antony has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not faced arrest or charges.
Additionally, Ingrid Lana, a 33-year-old banker, asserted during an interview with Record TV in Brazil that Antony had displayed aggressive behavior towards her in October 2022. She even claimed that his actions could have had fatal consequences.
However, according to The Telegraph, a third case concerning an incident that occurred in May 2022 has been withdrawn at the request of the alleged victim.
Law student Rayssa de Freitas had previously stated that she required medical attention following an altercation in May of the previous year. This altercation purportedly took place inside Antony’s Land Rover, with Mallu Ohana, the ex-wife of Brazilian player Dudu, also involved. The incident followed their departure from a nightclub in Sao Paulo.
The Telegraph reports that the complaint, which had been submitted to the Sao Paulo Civil Police, has now been fully retracted. It is believed that both women in the vehicle had accused each other of sexual assault.
Reportedly, de Freitas fled from the car when it stopped at a traffic light, and she subsequently required hospital treatment following the dispute.
Despite the alleged incident taking place three months before Antony’s £85 million transfer to Manchester United in September 2022, The Telegraph suggests that the club was unaware of the existence of this police report until it received media coverage in Brazil earlier this month.
