Van de Beek’s move to the club has turned out to be highly unfortunate, given the intense competition in the squad.

Ever since his arrival at Manchester United, Van de Beek has struggled to secure playing time, partly due to injury issues.

He has spent a mere 21 minutes on the pitch in the current season, which suggests that he is no longer a valued asset at the club.

Romano expressed his belief that Donny van de Beek’s departure is almost guaranteed in January, as it aligns with the player’s and the club’s intentions.

Despite his initial eagerness to play for Manchester United, he has been consistently sidelined, which has driven him to seek regular football opportunities elsewhere.

It’s worth noting that Van de Beek had anticipated a move during the summer transfer window, but a transfer to Real Sociedad collapsed due to Manchester United’s demands for a loan fee.

Romano also mentioned that Manchester United was not pleased with Van de Beek’s decision to turn down a move to Turkey and opt for a January transfer instead.

Typically, the mid-season transfer window is more challenging for transfers compared to the summer window.

However, Van de Beek’s situation is dire, and his agent should already be working on securing a move for January 1.

In the current season, Donny van de Beek has made only two appearances for Manchester United.

He played for 19 minutes in the Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace and for two minutes in the following Premier League match. Afterward, he hasn’t featured at all, sitting on the bench for a couple of league games before being excluded from the matchday squad.

His absence from the Champions League squad further signals that Manchester United expects his departure, making January the likely time for his exit.
