100% deal agreed – Rio Ferdinand reacts to reports Manchester United now want Everton star after Wolves shameful display

Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on claims that Manchester United are interested in signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana in the closing moments of the summer transfer season.

Ferdinand was speaking on his YouTube channel after knowing that Erik ten Hag’s team is a fan of the Belgian as they seek reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Manchester United is believed to have launched an early bid for Amadou Onana. According to the Guardian, they have approached the Toffees about a prospective transfer for the 21-year-old.

It appears like United will not be able to sign the youngster before the deadline. According to the Guardian, Everton wants to keep Onana for another year. With that, Sean Dyche’s team is demanding at least £50 million before considering releasing him.

Amadou Onana hasn’t convinced Ferdinand despite Manchester United’s desire.

During his most recent podcast, Ferdinand learned that Manchester United are apparently interested in the £33 million Everton player. And it’s safe to say he wasn’t thrilled with the prospect of ending up at Old Trafford.

“I think he has a lot of good qualities.” But I don’t think so for Manchester United. That’s similar to Fellaini. That’s akin to Manchester United acquiring Fellaini. Fellaini possessed incredible qualities, but not for Manchester United.”

It will be interesting to see how Onana evolves over the campaign. Everton appear to be headed for another difficult season after losing their opening game at Goodison Park to Fulham.

Last season, Onana was one of the Toffees’ best performances. And losing him in the last phases of the window would be devastating.

Everton supporters will be realistic about their chances of keeping Onana in the long run. If they are unable to climb up the table, players like Onana will try to move on and take the next step.

Clearly, Ferdinand is hoping to stay on Merseyside for a little longer, despite interest from Manchester United.
