This season, the forward has started eight times in all competitions, scoring a spectacular equaliser away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and also scored against Brentford and Leeds United.

For the next game against the Czech Republic, Elanga has been called up to the senior Sweden squad.

Ibrahimovic, who played for Malmo alongside United’s father Joseph Elanga, believes the boy is on the right track, but warns that it is now up to him to keep working hard.

‘He’s a wonderful talent, and we’re glad and happy that he’s Swedish,’ Ibrahimovic told SVT Sport.

‘The fact that he can now represent Sweden makes it even more significant.’

‘He has a bright career ahead of him, and if he keeps doing what he’s doing, it looks promising.’ It’s all about fighting, never being satisfied, and always wanting more.

‘How far he can go depends on him.’

If Sweden defeats the Czech Republic on Tuesday, they will face Poland for a place in the World Cup this summer.
