Wan-Bissaka did not play in Manchester United’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal on Saturday. The Gunners took the lead thanks to Nuno Tavares and a penalty from Bukayo Saka, but Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for United.

United’s Champions League aspirations were shattered after a failed penalty by Bruno Fernandes was punished by a thunderbolt from Granit Xhaka in the second half. Many players are now playing for their future at the club after Ten Hag’s hiring was revealed last Thursday.

Wan-Bissaka, according to Kevin Phillips, will not be selected. Former Sunderland striker, speaking to Football Insider, said: “He’s had a really difficult couple of seasons.

“He possesses a number of valuable talents, but is he truly on par with Man United? With the new manager, they enter a new chapter, but I don’t believe he’s a player who can help them progress to the next level.

“I haven’t seen enough of him to believe he’ll go down as one of Man United’s great right-backs. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was moved on this summer to free up a wage in order to conduct business in the transfer window.”
