Both Antony and Martinez are thought to want to join Manchester United this summer. However, Ajax will not make things easy for the Red Devils, as Arsenal is also interested in Martinez.

Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, knows both players well from his time at Ajax. And, following the arrival of left-back Tyrell Malacia earlier this week, he is eager to make them his next two acquisitions.

According to the Daily Record, personal terms have already been worked out with both Antony and Martinez. It is now up to the clubs to agree on a charge.

Ajax wants a sizable profit on both players, but the duo is putting pressure on the Eredivisie champions to accept an offer. However, Ajax will not budge from its asking price of £106.1 million.

Martinez joined Ajax from the Argentine team Defensa y Justicia in 2019 and has now made 120 appearances for the club. The 23-year-old is capable of playing central defense, left-back, and defensive midfield.

Antony joined from Brazilian club Sao Paulo a year later and has been a regular starter ever since. He missed the final three months of last season owing to an ankle ailment.

This summer, Ten Hag definitely intends to sign players he knows well. He is also interested in bringing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.

De Jong spent two seasons under Ten Hag before joining Barcelona in 2019. United, on the other hand, is unable to agree on a fee for the 25-year-old.

Malacia’s entrance also demonstrates Ten Hag’s understanding of the Dutch game. “It’s a great feeling to have joined Manchester United,” the left-back stated of his move to United.

“This is a new chapter in my life, a new league with new teammates and a fantastic manager [Erik ten Hag] in charge. I know his qualities and what he expects of his players from playing against his clubs in the Eredivisie.

“While I recognize that I am still young and will continue to improve, I can assure United fans that every time I put on the red shirt, I will leave everything on the field.” I’ll be eternally grateful to Feyenoord for everything they’ve done for me and my family.”
