The Old Trafford club have officially confirmed the deal with Real Madrid and the signing will be effective once the player has signed a contract and passed a medical.

According to today’s version of Sport (news image below), the reason Casemiro decided to leave the European champions to play in the Europa League is because United made a financial offer he could not refuse.

The Brazilian international signed a four-year contract with Los Blancos last August. The Catalan source claims that his contract with the La Liga giants was valued at €27m.

Casemiro is now said to have agreed to join Manchester United for a net fee of €48m (£40.7m).

The Samba star will earn €16m more than he would have received by serving out his contract at the Bernabeu until 2025.

The former Porto midfielder was tempted by Man Utd’s unattractive offer and decided to accept it.

He has made it clear that if the PL club are unable to meet Real Madrid’s demands, he would choose to stay. However, Sport claim that Man Utd moved quickly to complete a €70m deal.

Without a visa, medical and contract, Casemiro will not be able to play against Liverpool on Monday night.
