RASHFORD’S LATE WINNER AGAINST WESTHAM WINS GOAL OF THE MONTH
Manchester United’s Goal of the Month for January is Marcus Rashford’s spectacular stoppage-time winner against West Ham United.
With just seconds remaining on what had been a miserable afternoon for Ralf Rangnick’s Reds, Rashford was on hand at the back post to tap home Edinson Cavani’s cross.
The goal itself may not have been spectacular or era-defining, but the scenes it sparked inside a raucous Old Trafford will live long in the memory, helping Marcus to win the fan-voted accolade.
Marcus ended barely 1% ahead of teammate Bruno Fernandes, who was nominated for the second goal of his brace against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Many people chose Anthony Elanga (v Brentford) and Scott McTominay (v Aston Villa), but the sheer drama of Rashford’s score stayed with them.
Marcus’s fourth Premier League winner came in injury time, a league and United record.
