‘I found my place here’ – Man Utd loan star drops huge hint he wants to stay permanently

Marcel Sabitzer, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, believes there is "nothing better" than the Premier League and believes he has found a home at Manchester United.

After Christian Eriksen suffered a major injury, the Red Devils signed the Austria international near the close of the January transfer window.

Sabitzer has performed admirably for Manchester United as his position has expanded in recent weeks, with the 29-year-old recording a goal and an assist in his previous four games.

There have been rumors that he could stay into the summer if Bayern Munich is willing to negotiate a deal, with Football Insider recently reporting that Sabitzer is ‘trying to sign’ for Manchester United.

And now, Sabitzer has hinted to the German daily Bild that he intends to stay at Old Trafford, saying he’s “found my place.”

“Of course, my thoughts are on Man United, especially with the trust I get from Erik ten Hag – it’s very positive,” Sabitzer told Bild (via Fabrizio Romano).

“I’ve found my home here. Now that I’ve seen the Premier League, I can say there’s nothing finer.”

However, not everyone believes that Manchester United will want to sign Sabitzer during the summer transfer window if they can find better reinforcements.

The Red Devils are already on the search for a new midfielder, with links to a variety of players all around the world.

“We have to remember he was an emergency signing,” journalist Dean Jones recently told GiveMeSport. So, while he may join on a permanent basis, Ten Hag’s priority will be to sign someone substantial for that midfield, you know, a long-term regular at a very high level.

“I believe they’ll return to Sabitzer only after those conversations.” I don’t think there’ll be any haste to do it because I don’t think there’ll be much demand for him.”

Sabitzer has played in a more advanced role for Manchester United in recent weeks, with Bruno Fernandes sliding deeper, and Arsenal legend Ian Wright was impressed by the Austrian in their 1-0 win against Brentford.

“You have to say, Sabitzer delivered today,” Wright said to Premier League Productions.

“He was getting into pockets, making some nice little moves, and always making himself available with the assist and in certain other areas.”

“In the end, he was taken off, but I thought he did more than enough tonight in that number 10 position.”
