Man Utd expect transfer deadline day plans to include Raphinha possibility and two exits

Manchester United have already signed Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in the January transfer window, but they could still pull a Rahpinha-style coup on deadline day - with Harry Kane set to wait until the summer.

Manchester United has never been afraid to spend big money in transfer windows.

However, January is not typically the busiest month for the English behemoths. After Erik ten Hag told him his priority was to sign a world-class No.9 before the start of next season, CEO Richard Arnold is desperate to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford.

Arnold had considered approaching Tottenham this month, but will now have to wait until the summer to begin his brinkmanship with Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy.

England captain Kane is entering the final year of his current contract and has stated that he would be interested in joining a club that can offer him Champions League football and a better chance of winning trophies.

Spurs are still desperate to keep Kane and want him to sign a new, better contract. However, there is a growing sense at the London club that the 29-year-old would welcome a new challenge.

If Kane expresses a desire to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Levy is expected to demand a fee of up to £85 million.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also interested in signing Kane, but England’s joint-leading goalscorer prefers to stay in the Premier League.

For the time being, Ten Hag’s top priorities this month were to sign a short-term forward and a backup goalkeeper.

Wout Weghorst joined United on loan from Besiktas until the end of the season, while Jack Butland joined from Crystal Palace.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire have been linked with loan moves away from Old Trafford but will remain at the club for the time being. Inter Milan have expressed interest in the latter, but the England captain has rejected the possibility of a loan move and will consider his options in the summer.

If the right club comes in for Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri, they may be allowed to leave on loan. Raphinha, a former Leeds player, is one guy United might make a surprise move for.

The winger joined Barcelona last summer but has struggled to make an impact, and with the Spanish giants requiring finances to recruit Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan, the Brazilian might be made available.

Meanwhile, United remain interested in Jude Bellingham but could shift their focus to Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch if the England and Borussia Dortmund sensation rejects them.
