Paul Pogba is a Manchester United flop who should be embarrassed, says Paul Parker

When Pogba’s contract ends at the end of the season, he is expected to leave the club for the second time, and it is expected to be a relatively quiet finish to his tenure with the Red Devils.

United were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night after losing in the last 16 to Atletico Madrid, and their only realistic ambition for the season is to finish fourth in the Premier League.

Pogba re-signed for Manchester United in 2016 for a then-world-record £89.3 million, but the Frenchman has rarely lived up to that high price tag, according to Parker, who believes Pogba has been a major disappointment.

He’s been a complete failure. ‘An inconsistency flop,’ says the critic. Parker revealed this to MyBettingSites. ‘There have been excellent games, but I don’t believe there have been very, very good games, and I don’t believe there have been spectacular games.’

‘When you look at a player with that pedigree, how much he costs, and the fact that he’s a World Cup champion, he hasn’t done himself any honor.’

‘If I were him, I’d be a little embarrassed if I could look in the mirror.’ You’ve arrived at a wonderful club like Man United and failed to deliver.”

‘You can make all the excuses you want about it, but the skill is there, and all you have to do now is demonstrate it.’ And if you don’t demonstrate your talent, everyone will be looking at everything else going on around you.”

‘They haven’t done anything like that. People had been staring at him because of his bad performance. Because of his poor performance, he has being scrutinized.’

Pogba’s compatriot Marcel Desailly was equally critical of the midfielder ahead of United’s match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, accusing him of being sluggish and failing to carry out his midfield responsibilities.

‘You can’t compare Paul Pogba to Fred, [Scott] McTominay, or [Nemanja] Matic in terms of quality,’ the former Chelsea and AC Milan star told beIN SPORTS.

‘But he’s lazy, and if you let him playmaker behind [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he’ll take advantage of that.’

‘When he’s on his game, he’s terrific.’ When things don’t go well, offensively, he hasn’t gone to the level that everyone expected, but he will also cheat a little and not drop back.

‘He cheats a little bit and doesn’t help defensively in the midfield.’
