Manchester United to DEMOLISH Old Trafford?

Manchester United is meeting with firms to discuss a variety of renovation proposals for Old Trafford.

According to reports, one of the options under discussion is to completely demolish and rebuild the present stadium.

Less radical possibilities could include redeveloping the South Stand while expanding on the other three sides.

Manchester United has stated that it is premature to discuss particular plans until a master planner’ for the process has been chosen.

With elements of the 74 000-capacity stadium exhibiting signs of wear and tear, the club recognizes the need to modernize Old Trafford and improve the matchday experience for fans.

The stadium’s reconstruction would be extremely disruptive, yet it has been proposed because the South Stand is bounded by an operating railway line, making outward extension on that side unfeasible.

According to the Daily Mail, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has openly supported plans to demolish the stadium.
