Manchester United are apparently interested in signing the striker, who scored 34 goals last season. However, Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old has complicated their pursuit of him.

The Reds are looking for an attacking replacement for Sadio Mane, who is expected to leave. Nunez has been a target for United for some time, with Erik ten Hag looking for a backup to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nunez has visited with a number of prominent English clubs, according to a recent report from Football Transfers. Their identities have not been revealed, but Tottenham is understood to have made contact with the players’ agents, with a move to the United Kingdom appearing to be the preferred option.

Meanwhile, according to Metro, United will determine whether or not to include James Garner in their first-team plans during pre-season. Last season, the 21-year-old enjoyed a fantastic loan season at Nottingham Forest, guiding them to promotion via the play-offs.

Forest are desperate to keep him, but United may keep him as they look to bolster their midfield following the departures of Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Nemanja Matic.

Garner will travel to Asia as part of Ten Hag’s pre-season tour, where he will effectively be on trial for a berth in the first squad.
