Since November, the Red Devils have been without a permanent manager. Following a succession of disappointing outcomes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired.

Ralf Rangnick took his position. The German is only expected to be in charge until the end of the summer. He will thereafter take on a consulting role behind the scenes.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Manchester United was ready to “go all out” to sign Tuchel.

The Chelsea manager has been at the club since the beginning of 2021. Last season, he helped the Blues win the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports, Tuchel will not be taking over at Manchester United because they are ‘not considering’ him.

Reports tying the German to Manchester United are described as “media talk, not reality.”

They went on to mention Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Julen Lopetegui, and Luis Enrique as United’s “four-man shortlist.”

It is also reported that Pochettino and Ten Hag are the frontrunners, with multiple sources admitting they would be stunned if either were not at the helm.’

Meanwhile, Robbie Fowler has criticized Gary Neville for recommending that Manchester United seek the services of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.

“I giggled last week when I heard Gary Neville yell that his former team should appoint Diego Simeone as manager,” Fowler wrote for the Mirror.

“Come on, come on! I’m not saying he’s anti-football, but some of his team’s antics, some of the nasty things they do, and the strategies they employ. At Manchester United, not so.

“Within weeks, the fans would be calling it out, and even if he did win things with it, they wouldn’t put up with it for long.”

“United have a preconceived notion of how they should play. Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson established this. Simeone isn’t a good fit for that.

“He doesn’t fit in with someone who loves football; he exists primarily to prevent opponents from playing football.” Which no one should be happy about. That is what I mean by “identity.”

“It’s not enough to merely win – though it definitely helps. Jose Mourinho discovered this at Old Trafford. Clubs require a good fit between a manager and a winning team, and his mentality did not fit.”
