Three things that will ‘definitely’ happen at Arsenal if Erik ten Hag becomes Man United manager

To say the least, watching Manchester United’s demise over the last few seasons has been entertaining. After five years without a trophy, inefficiencies on and off the field, and a frustrated fanbase, the club is once again looking for a new permanent manager.

Ralf Rangnick was named interim manager in November of last year and is expected to continue until the conclusion of the season before returning to a consulting role for another two years.

Mauricio Pochettino, the current PSG and former Tottenham Hotspur manager, has been connected with the full-time role. The Manchester Evening News, on the other hand, reports that Ajax’s Erik ten Hag has been interviewed.

Should Arsenal fans be concerned about United’s probable hire as one of the game’s most highly ranked and respected coaches? Here are three scenarios that could happen later on.

Ajax players will be transferred to Old Trafford.
If ten Hag is appointed as the new manager of Manchester United, I would be surprised if he does not return to his previous club once the summer transfer window opens, making it more difficult for Arsenal to acquire players from that club in particular.

Ajax is on course to win another Eredivisie title this season, and a number of excellent players are vital to the team’s success.

Many big European clubs are interested in Brazilian winger Antony, as are Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch, but both are apparently in talks about a move elsewhere, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich showing interest.

Regardless of who ten Hag chooses, the Ajax squad is loaded of fascinating stars who may easily strengthen the Red Devils in the short and long term.

Ex-Arsenal players may be able to share insider information.
Former Arsenal teammates Marc Overmars and Dennis Bergkamp have not only worked at Ajax, but they will also be well-versed in their country’s history.

Overmars served as the club’s director of football for nearly eleven years before departing last month. For the past five years, he has collaborated directly with Erik Hag on a variety of football-related issues, including transfers and first-team operations.

Meanwhile, Bergkamp joined Ajax as a coach in 2011, eventually becoming a first-team assistant coach alongside Frank De Boer. Following a string of disappointing results, Overmars and general manager Edwin van der Sar reshuffled the coaching staff, and the non-flying Dutchman was fired in 2017.

Despite the fact that they are no longer with the club, the pair will have in-depth knowledge of ten Hag that current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta can utilize when his team takes against Manchester United.

United will have to rebuild in the manner of Arsenal.
A new manager may be chosen, but it does not guarantee that Manchester will improve overnight. According to reports, some players are dissatisfied and wish to go, while Rangnick pushes up to take on greater tasks.

Furthermore, ten Hag will need time to build his footballing philosophy and vision for the club before introducing it to the team.

Arteta took over at Arsenal in 2019, and while some gains were made, his metamorphosis is only now being recognized properly.

It comes after a comprehensive squad revamp over several transfer windows, personnel restructures, culture shifts, and tenacity.

The Gunners will have to be aware of the talent that one of their fiercest rivals may possess in the future, but for the time being, a lot needs to change for Manchester United to become a serious threat in the Premier League once again.
