Manchester United is looking at various attackers as they aim to find an effective successor for Cristiano Ronaldo up front. Ten Hag has considered signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich due to his outstanding form.

Choupo-Moting was ranked second to Robert Lewandowski in the Bayern Munich pecking order but has performed admirably since the Pole moved to Barcelona. Choupo-Moting has scored 10 goals in 15 games this season, including a brace in Bayern’s recent Bundesliga win over Hertha Berlin.

Bayern CEO Hasan Salihamidzic, on the other hand, has stated that he is determined to keep the 33-year-old at the Allianz Arena. As a result, Choupo-Moting is set to sign a new deal, ultimately ending Manchester United’s ambitions of signing him.

Instead, Ten Hag and John Murtough, the director of football, will have to look into a move for Napoli’s talisman Victor Osimhen.

Last season, he was in excellent form, scoring 18 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions. And Osimhen has taken that form into the new season, scoring nine times in 13 appearances. He would have scored more if it hadn’t been for a bicep injury that kept him out for six games.

Ten Hag has lately named Osimhen as his number one goal to replace Ronaldo up top, according to Thursday’s Transfer Gossip.

The Nigerian will not be cheap, with Napoli asking £85 million for his services. However, Ten Hag appears to be instructing Murtough to match this figure so that he can bring in his perfect striker at Old Trafford.

National team manager praises Manchester United’s target
Osimhen will not have the opportunity to shine on the world’s largest stage because Nigeria did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Nonetheless, Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro has spoken about his top scorer.

And Peseiro recommended Osimhen to Ten Hag, describing how the 23-year-old is a complete striker. The only problem for Ten Hag and Manchester United is that Peseiro believes all of Europe’s top clubs will be interested in him as well.

“He is rather young. “It’s certainly not simple, normally a center-forward finds this level further ahead,” Peseiro told Tuttomercatoweb. “However, he always scores goals.” I don’t think I’m wrong if I say every team in the world wants to buy him right now. He has the ability to press, score, and use his body. He would be able to play on all of the teams.

“Napoli is playing fantastically well; they are first, and the rewards are for both of us.” For him, the manager, and the team members. Keeping a guy like him for Napoli will be difficult considering his value and demands.

Victor Osimhen was described as a “full-fledged center-forward.”
“He’s a full-fledged center-forward.” He assists, scores right and left, and is good on defense. He knows how to press and is difficult to defend against for a defensive center.

“In June, in the summer, I believe Napoli will ask for several million for him… And I believe there will be many clubs willing to offer them.” He is still young and has a lot of room for development.”

The remarks of Peseiro are telling. The Nigeria manager fully expects multiple teams to make large bids for Osimhen. Man United will presumably be among them, though they may struggle to win the bidding battle.

Osimhen will be overjoyed that Peseiro refers to him as a “complete center-forward.” This will boost his confidence and may persuade Ten Hag to make the transfer move.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Chelsea are on high alert after one of Choupo-Bayern Moting’s teammates made a major revelation regarding his desire to leave the club.
