‘Disappointed with three Players’ – Ten Hag promised to offload three worst Man Utd players after Wrexham defeat

Wrexham won promotion to League Two for the first time in 15 years last season, and it was agreed that their game versus United in San Diego would be played against a young academy team.

Alvaro Fernandez, Dan Gore, and Hannibal were the only players from United’s first-team tour group to make the trip for the match, and they started alongside other Reds academy hopefuls.

Jonny Evans was the lone senior player in the starting lineup, and despite some good early work from United, Wrexham took the lead just before the 30th-minute mark, then increased their lead moments later following a long throw-in.

Although United’s youngsters struggled against Wrexham’s toughness, the deficit was cut in half on the stroke of halftime when right-back Marc Jurado scored, with Fernandez providing the assist.

That gave Travis Binnion’s team hope for the second half, but Dan Gore was awarded a questionable red card after the break, and Wrexham regained control, eventually scoring another for a 3-1 triumph.

Ten Hag spoke to MUTV after the loss and stated it will be a learning experience for the players.

“It’s always disappointing, and we’re always disappointed with ourselves,” Ten Hag remarked. “Our play in the first half was a little erratic.” We lacked organization, and we had other goals that we didn’t meet.
