After a remarkable few seasons with club and country, the Liverpool star has established himself as one of the top players in the world.

He not only became an important part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, but he also helped the Reds win their first Premier League title.

The 29-year-old was also crucial the year before, when Liverpool won their sixth Champions League title.

Mane, on the other hand, went one step further by leading Senegal to the African Cup of Nations in January, the first time the country had won the championship.

Despite his wide-ranging accomplishments in athletics, which will forever mark him as a legend, the forward is known for his humble demeanor and quiet personality.

In a conversation about his life, the former Southampton player stated that he couldn’t live like Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar has the most Instagram followers and is one of, if not the most talked-about athletes on the planet.

That lifestyle, however, does not appeal to Mane, who told L’Equipe: “I’m not trying to create the appearance that I’m a professor.

“However, depending on my education, there are certain values floating around football that disturb me a little.”

“But, rather than criticizing out loud, I sometimes prefer to take a step back.

“The most important thing is not to change, and I don’t believe it has.

“Resisting all of that is already a big accomplishment for a boy from a little community in Casamance.”

When asked if he could live like Ronaldo or Neymar, he said: “No way! That’s plenty for me. I follow them on social media.

“I admire their fantastic lifestyle, but it is not for me.”

Mane discussed his Liverpool colleague Mohamed Salah’s response to the AFCON final in a wide-ranging interview.

In a nail-biting match between two of the top attackers in the Premier League, Senegal defeated Salah’s Egypt on penalties.

And Mane scored the game-winning penalty, but his club teammate was denied the opportunity to take his spot-kick, resulting in the loss.

“It was evident to me that he was quite disappointed after our victory,” Mane stated of Salah.

“I wasn’t going to let him go without saying anything. If it had been the other way around, he would have done the same thing I did.

“I said a few basic words to try to console him, and told him not to give up.”
