Rudiger told he’ll ‘regret’ Real Madrid actions, as Chelsea ace cites two reasons for crushing loss

Rodrygo, on the other hand, drew the Spaniards level with 10 minutes remaining after tucking home a sublime pass from Luka Modric.

Extra time was called, and Karim Benzema came on in the 96th minute, heading past Edouard Mendy to make it 5-4 overall.

Chelsea pushed and pushed, but couldn’t force a penalty shootout, and the reigning champions were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Rudiger was spotted reacting negatively to several Real Madrid players seeking to embrace him immediately following the final whistle.

David Alaba has pushed aside after attempting to console Rudiger before storming out and sinking to his knees while yelling. Other Real stars attempted to shake Rudiger’s hand, but the German refused.

Rio Ferdinand, speaking on BT Sport after seeing Rudiger’s reaction, acknowledged that emotions were running high, but claimed that the Chelsea player would regret his behavior.

“It’s an emotional rollercoaster, man.” “And I don’t think he’d want to react like way or see those photographs,” Ferdinand explained (via the Metro).

“But you can’t control the sensation there.” We’ve all been there after big games, and I’ve said and done things you later regret, thinking, “that’s not me, that’s not my typical personality.” But this is what people associate with football.

“Imagine the changing area there if you saw changing rooms after sports.” There will be a lot of flying.

“I smacked into walls and ended up kicking people at times!” I got done at Chelsea by accidentally kicking someone, you don’t mean it, you just lose your head, you don’t mean anything by it.

“But I like to see it because that’s the feeling; there’s a caring and a desire to win, and they understand what it means and how close they were.”

In the aftermath, Rudiger spoke to BT Sport. The center-half praised his squad for their fightback at the Bernabeu. He did, however, agree that the “individual class” of superstars Karim Benzema and Luka Modric was decisive.

“If you make these kinds of mistakes on both legs, you are penalized,” Rudiger explained (via the Express).

“It was a do or die situation for us.” Before the game, hardly everyone believed we could get to 3-0. But then the individual class emerges with Modric and Benzema, and here we are.”

“The good news is that we didn’t give up.” Few teams can come here and dominate them as we did. However, if you make the same mistakes we did across the two legs, you will be penalized.

“That was the game strategy, to put Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] and Mason [Mount] between Casemiro and the defense.”

“We got the goal and maintained control; we didn’t panic.” We did a good job, scoring goals and doing everything we could in the second half.”
