Cristiano Ronaldo met Formula One bad boy Nikita Mazepin in Dubai during a gym session sponsored by the Russian team, Haas.

The American racing team published a photo of the duo, with F1 rookie Mazepin characterizing it as his “greatest gym session this year so far” after posing with the Manchester United megastar, who was putting an arm across his t-shirt that read “Russian MMA Union.”

Portugal captain Ronaldo smirked and raised a thumb, mirroring Mazepin’s position, while wearing a tiny pair of shorts that revealed his rippling leg muscles.

The 36-year-old is presently vacationing in Dubai during United’s 13-day break before hosting Middlesbrough in the FA Cup Fourth Round on February 4.

Earlier in the day, Ronaldo posted a selfie of himself on a beach in the United Arab Emirates with his four children and a football.

The self-proclaimed “proud dad” also posted a photo of himself on a sun lounger, adding he was enjoying “the view.”

The previous day, Mazepin trained in the gym with Radmir Gabdullin, President of the MMA Union of Russia.

Gabdullin advises the General Director of Uralkali, the title sponsor for Haas and a prominent stakeholder of Mazepin’s father, Dmitry.

Mazepin is gearing up for pre-season testing in February, with his 2022 F1 campaign kicking out on March 20 in Bahrain.

The 22-year-old is hoping to improve on a disappointing debut season in which Haas scored no points and was regularly chastised for several crashes and last-place finishes amid rumors of a strained relationship with teammate Mick Schumacher, the son of Formula One’s most successful driver of all time, Michael.

Ronaldo is buddies with UFC great Khabib Nurmagomedov, so this isn’t the first time he’s photographed with a prominent Russian sports figure.

The MMA legend met Ronaldo at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium in October 2021, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner presented the former lightweight champion a Real Madrid shirt in February 2018.

Gabdullin, a former MMA fighter and sparring partner of famed Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko, called Mazepin’s preparation for the 23-race season “intense.”

“I wish my friend and younger brother prosperity, triumphs, and the implementation of tactical and strategic goals at all stages,” said the man who took over as union leader after Emelianenko.

“Russia, go, go. Friends, let us rally even more behind our Russian pilot this year.”
