In the Super Cup final, the Blues defeated Villarreal 1-0 to give them their first piece of trophy of the season.
They followed it up with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in their Premier League debut, followed by a 2-0 triumph over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their next match.
Romelu Lukaku was outstanding in the London derby, scoring a brace of goals.
The Belgian, who was making his second Arsenal debut after joining from Inter in a £100 million deal, tormented the Gunners’ defense throughout the game.
In what was a dominating performance, he scored the first goal for his team.
Lukaku is in excellent spirits after returning to his former club, and he demonstrated that his self-belief is through the sky during Chelsea’s training session on Tuesday.
Chelsea is presently preparing for their Premier League match against Liverpool, and Romelu Lukaku was in fine form during a shooting exercise during the preparations.
Following a superb touch and finish, Lukaku turned to his teammates and exclaimed: “It was fantastic!” “Oh my goodness! I’m going to teach you all how to score, every single one of you. Each one at a time.”
Also, see the video below for a somewhat lengthier training session, which was released by Chelsea…
To be quite honest, Lukaku is one of, if not the finest finisher in the world, and Chelsea’s players can take a lot of inspiration from his abilities.
Lukaku will face Virgil van Dijk at Anfield this weekend in what is expected to be a thrilling fight between the two strikers.
After watching the Dutchman’s performance against the Chelsea star, Jamie Carragher believes he will ‘fancy his chances against him.
According to football.london, after Chelsea defeated Arsenal, he made the following statement on Sky Sports: “Liverpool will not make any changes for the visit of Chelsea, but Van Dijk is the only player, at least in the Premier League, who will feel optimistic about his prospects against Romelu Lukaku.
“This is going to be a fantastic competition, but I have no doubt that Liverpool will be aiming to push through to the midway point of the season.
“What we saw from Lukaku yesterday does not imply that he would behave in the same manner against every defense.
“It was a case of poor planning. A lot of that was triggered by Arsenal.” He is an absolute handful and a terrific striker, and he will score a lot of goals for the club.
