When Lewandowski scored for Bayern Munich, he became one of only three players in history to score 30 or more Champions League knockout goals. The goal gave the Germans the lead in the second leg of their quarter-final against Villarreal.

Bayern Munich were unable to advance due to their strike. Villarreal, who defeated United in the Europa League final last season, struck a late equalizer at the Allianz Arena to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate, eliminating Bayern from the competition.

As the competition approaches the semi-final stage, Lewandowski, Ronaldo, and Messi are all out of the Champions League.

This season, Ronaldo scored six goals in seven Champions League matches for United, but it wasn’t enough.

United were eliminated in the round of 16 after losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford last month.

United had previously drawn 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in Spain, but Diego Simeone’s side proved superior over two legs, as the La Liga champions eliminated United. Atletico will face Manchester City in the second leg of the quarter-finals tonight.
