80% Completed – 5 major findings so far: Man Utd ‘launch major investigation’ into issues that’s troubled Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United is reportedly conducting an internal investigation into the significant number of injuries plaguing Erik ten Hag’s team early in the season, with their worst Premier League start in 37 years partly attributed to these injuries.

The club has seen a staggering 16 players sidelined for various periods after just eight Premier League matches, including key summer signings like Rasmus Hojlund, Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount, and Sergio Reguilon. This has left Ten Hag unable to field his preferred starting XI.

United is now actively looking into this issue to identify any patterns and attempt to address the ongoing fitness problems, according to reports from the Mail.

While some of the injuries have been caused by impact incidents, which are difficult for the club to prevent, others are muscular problems that the club aims to address.

The club’s staff is exploring whether these injuries might be a result of the high number of matches played last season, particularly due to the World Cup occurring mid-season and leading to a congested domestic campaign.

United, along with Manchester City, played more games than any other Premier League team last year due to their success in cup competitions.

In an effort to enhance the club’s medical services, United appointed Gary O’Driscoll, the former head of medical services at Arsenal, this summer, and he officially assumed his role at the club last week.

Last month, Ten Hag expressed his concerns regarding the injuries that have afflicted his team.

He noted that starting with the best XI was rare for him since the beginning of the previous season due to injuries.

However, he emphasized the need to deal with these issues and highlighted the squad’s depth to manage such situations.

“Injuries always come in top football because we’re living on the edge and injuries are coming up. We analyze why things happen, but we also have to deal with the facts and it’s always about the players available. We have a strong side and we have to get the best out of it,” Ten Hag said.
