Report states who is the ‘favourite’ to become Manchester United’s next manager

Manchester United fans are still unsure who will be in charge at Old Trafford next season as we enter March.

After the season, interim manager Ralf Rangnick will go upstairs to take on a consulting position for the next two years.

Following the dismissal of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick’s three-game caretaker stint, the German has been in interim command since November.

Since Solskjaer’s departure from the club, Mauricio Pochettino of PSG and Erik ten Hag of Ajax have been frequently linked with the position.

According to the Mail, new CEO Richard Arnold wants the new permanent manager to be hired as soon as feasible once the season ends.

According to the article, “Arnold wants to appoint the new guy as soon as possible after the season ends so he can play a role in recruiting new recruits to replace those who will go this summer.”

And the Athletic believe that Pochettino, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, is “the favorite to replace Rangnick in the summer.”

Since dining with Sir Alex Ferguson in 2016, there has been speculation that the legendary Scotsman was getting a sense of the Argentine’s long-term goals and whether he would be a good match for the Red Devils.

With executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward gone, the club’s football director, John Murtough, will lead the search for our next permanent manager.

Murtaugh and Arnold, who will grant their permission to the appointment, will be supported by Darren Fletcher, who was involved in the Rangnick deal.

However, according to the Spanish newspaper Diario Sport, Pochettino is interested in joining Real Madrid in the Spanish capital.

Pochettino’s immediate focus will most likely be on capturing PSG’s prized and elusive first Champions League.

It’s unavoidable that there will be some twists and turns in United’s search for our next manager, but it appears that Mauricio Pochettino is the man on whom the United management has its sights set.
