According to De Telegraaf, PSV Eindhoven will not be able to ignore offers of €30m (£26m) for Cody Gakpo, who is being targeted by Arsenal and Leeds.

ARSENAL OR LEEDS COULD MAKE A GOOD DEAL

The Dutch international is one of the hottest strikers in the game at the moment, and has made more appearances as a striker than Erling Haaland this season.

Gakpo has scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists in 21 appearances this season, and Fabrizio Romano says Leeds are hoping to complete a deal in January after the summer transfer window failed.

Elsewhere, the Mirror has revealed that Arsenal want to sign the Dutchman.

Now Mikel Arteta and Jesse Marsch have received good news from De Telegraaf.

The Dutch newspaper reckons PSV Eindhoven are in desperate need of funds, and if a £26m bid for Gakpo arrives in January, they “won’t be able to refuse it”.

If such a sum does not arrive in PSV Eindhoven’s accounts, De Telegraaf believes the Eredivisie club will be in a financial mess at the end of the season.

ARSENAL AND LEEDS MUST ACT

If this is true, Edu and Victor Orta should already be preparing offers.

To put the matter in context, Antony scored just eight Eredivisie goals last season before he was offered an £86million move to Manchester United.

In just 11 games this season, Gakpo has already scored nine Eredivisie goals.

The 23-year-old is still in his prime, so he could be in for better performances soon.

Gakpo is usually the captain of PSV Eindhoven, and is also a regular in the Dutch national team. Whoever secures his services in 2023 will therefore have a potential superstar for the future.
