Facundo Pellistri of Manchester United impressed during Uruguay’s emphatic 4-1 friendly victory against Nicaragua.

The South Americans were clear favorites in Marcelo Bielsa’s first game as manager, and Pellistri was the man of the match with an outstanding performance.

The 21-year-old has yet to establish himself as a regular starter for United, but he has been an important player for his country since his debut in January 2022.

He was spectacular against Nicaragua, recording two assists in the first half.

Pellistri had 46 touches and 21 accurate passes in total. He finished five take-ons while winning eight duels and three tackles.

It was a fantastic night for the kid, who has already won 12 caps since making his debut last year.

Pellistri has five assists in this span, and it will be interesting to see how United handles his contract situation in the following weeks.

Next season, Pellistri could be loaned out.
Last term, he showed glimpses of his potential. He made an impact on his debut against Charlton Athletic, assisting Marcus Rashford off the bench.

Pellistri also drew attention with his dribbling in tight spaces, but there is no guarantee that he will play first-team football for the Red Devils next season.

Antony is the unquestioned starter on the right wing, but Jadon Sancho could get increased playing time in the position. Ten Hag’s intentions could possibly be disrupted by Amad Diallo.

As a result, a loan exit could be an appropriate solution for Pellistri, who has two years left on his contract with a one-year option. United is eager to extend his contract.

Diallo had a productive loan spell with Sunderland last season, scoring 14 goals. Ten Hag may prefer to play Pellistri in the Championship to give him more first-team experience.
