The Dutchman was interested in joining United, but he needed assurances about playing time before the World Cup in November.

According to Dutch reporter Mike Verweij, Timber has concluded that relocating to Old Trafford is too hazardous at this time, and he intends to stay at Ajax.

Timber is taking a vacation this week to finalize his plans for the future, however he is currently leaning toward staying in Amsterdam.

United have yet to sign a player this summer, despite rivals Liverpool and Manchester City landing Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, respectively.

Erik ten Hag’s priority list does not include strengthening his defense, which speaks more to the club’s desperate need to sign players elsewhere than to the strength of the back four.

United are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but the Catalans want £72 million for him, while United value him at £52 million.

The Red Devils have made an offer to Christian Eriksen, a free agent, but the Dane will take a vacation before deciding on his future.
