Ralf Rangnick, the manager of Manchester United, has disclosed which players he is most thrilled to work with, hunting whom he may turn into his key guys during his brief tenure.
The German coach has agreed to serve as an interim manager until the end of the season, after which he will serve as an advisor for another two years.
“I am really excited,” Rangnick remarked, according to the club’s official website. They have so many elite, fantastic young players — I’m familiar with Jadon Sancho from the German Bundesliga.
“In reality, I met him in London when he was 17 years old.” We were trying to get him to come to Leipzig at the time, but he decided to go to [Borussia] Dortmund a few months later, which was not a bad decision in his opinion.
There are so many excellent young players in the roster, as well as seasoned top players, such as Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. Working with those types of guys and helping them improve is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Rangnick has a lot of skill, especially in the attacking positions, so it’s no surprise that he mentioned these players first.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, and Bruno Fernandes are just a few of the players on United’s roster.
Any combination of players can be employed, and none of them will necessarily be incorrect.
Rangnick, on the other hand, has the luxury of selecting players based on their form and attitude rather than worrying about losing talent if he rotates.
The same cannot be said about the midfield and defensive choices, but there are some excellent players in those positions as well.
Rangnick will have backup alternatives in Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek, and Amad Diallo if he goes with a front four.
As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see who Rangnick favors and why.
