One missing, Two Man United Stars Included as Brazil announce their 26-man squad for the World Cup

Brazil manager Tite has chosen his 26-man team for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and the Selecao are already considered the favorites to capture the prestigious trophy this winter.

Looking at his roster, veteran full-back Dani Alves is the biggest surprise from Monday’s news. The 39-year-old Brazilian international currently plays for Liga MX club UNAM.

He is joined in the squad by fellow fullbacks Alex Sandro, Danilo, and Alex Telles.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli makes the cut, despite previous claims that he would not, while Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro, Fabinho, and Lucas Paqueta also make the cut.

The full roster of 26 players is as follows:

Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City), and Weverton are the goalkeepers (Palmeiras)

Defenders: Daniel Alves (Pumas), Danilo (Juventus), Alex Sandro (Juventus), and Alex Telles (Sevilla). Midfielders: Bremer (Juventus), Éder Milito (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (PSG), and Thiago Silva (Chelsea)

Midfielders: Bruno Guimares (Newcastle), Casemiro (Manchester United), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), and Lucas Paquetá (Manchester United) (West Ham)

Forwards: Neymar (PSG), Pedro (Flamengo), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), and Vini Jr. (Real Madrid)

Brazil’s World Cup debut will be against Serbia on November 24, followed by matches against Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G.

Lionel Messi believes Brazil has a good chance of winning the World Cup in Qatar.

Despite England’s recent dismal form under Gareth Southgate leading up to the tournament, the Paris Saint-Germain forward believes the team will do well in Qatar.

“As for the favorites, there are big teams like Brazil, Germany, France, England, and Spain,” he told RMC Sport. And I’m sure I’m missing some.

“However, if I had to pick one or two, I believe Brazil and France are the two main contenders for this World Cup.”
