Second Signing Set – Man United ‘want quick second signing’ in addition to Mason Mount transfer – Fabrizio

Mason Mount appears to be on his way to Manchester United from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

According to rumors, Manchester United are seeking to recruit a second player, in addition to Mason Mount, before their pre-season tour this summer. Erik ten Hag is eager to sign the Chelsea star as he prepares to defend his Premier League title next season. And, despite the uncertainties surrounding the club’s takeover, the 24-year-old will not be the only new face at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have increased their interest in Mount since regaining their place in the Champions League after missing out this season.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils want a second player to sign before they leave on their pre-season tour next month.

It’s unclear who United may attempt to sign in addition to Mount, though Harry Kane is another player on their radar.

Despite a disastrous season under managers Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini, and Ryan Mason, the Tottenham star scored 32 goals in all competitions this season.

Since Dimitar Berbatov crossed the border in 2008, Spurs have not sold a single player to United.

Despite having an interest in Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani, United remain hopeful of signing Kane.

Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta is another player being considered, having scored 15 goals for the Serie A giants since moving to Italy last year.

United have been linked with a move for a new right-back, with Jeremie Frimpong being mentioned frequently.

Another center-back might join the club, despite widespread speculation that Harry Maguire will be let go.

And, if the budget allows, United will bolster their goalkeeping department, since David De Gea has been unreliable despite earning the Golden Glove this season.

It’s looking like another summer of transition at United.

Following Saturday’s painful 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to fierce rivals Manchester City, their need for new signings was clear.

After the setback at Wembley, Ten Hag vowed he would battle to develop his team, saying, “I have only one plan: to improve this club and this team.”

“I’m going to fight for [it].” I have some ideas, and I’ve already told the club what we need to accomplish.

“However, I need to work with my staff and my players to improve for next season.”

“I don’t think I want to discuss [the possible takeover] right now.” It’s time to wrap up the season.

“It’s about being quiet, analyzing the season, going in-depth, drawing the right conclusions, and then taking action.”

“During the season, we are constantly making considerations, which are actions into the process.”

“But now that the season is over, the overall conclusion is that we had a fantastic season.”

“It’s not about the summer gap, it’s not about getting players in and having them perform well.” It’s about how we work throughout the season and day by day to build and progress the squad.

“I’m quite proud of where we started the season. Remember Brentford and the Etihad Stadium (where United was hammered 4-0 and 6-3).

“Now, we demonstrated today against City that the home win was not a fluke, and on another day, we could win this game.”

Ten Hag has signed nine players for United since his hiring last year.

Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Martin Dubravka, and Antony all relocated a year ago.

The Red Devils then signed loan deals for Marcel Sabitzer, Wout Weghorst, and Jack Butland in January.
