Following Manchester United’s poor form in the Premier League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under a lot of pressure at Old Trafford in recent weeks

Manchester United has only won one of their previous five Premier League games, putting them outside of the top four heading into the busy festive season

The Red Devils were defeated 5-0 at Old Trafford by Liverpool FC before losing 2-0 at home to Manchester City in the Premier League right before the international break.

Watford, on the other hand, is 17th in the table and has only won one of their previous five Premier League games, with the other four ending in defeat.

When Manchester United travels to Watford on Saturday afternoon, Solskjaer will be acutely aware of the significance of getting back on track.

And Owen, a former Manchester United, and England player believe the Red Devils will win comfortably against Claudio Ranieri’s side this Saturday.

“Watford has scored in only one of their four games under Ranieri, and that 5-2 triumph over Everton is looking more and more like an oddity,” Owen wrote in his BetVictor column.

“They’re in the midst of a difficult run of fixtures, and I don’t see things improving any time soon.”

“I thought Man United’s performance versus City in the derby was underwhelming. The team lacked motivation and effort, and it was all too easy for City. United was considerably too cautious and appeared to be lagging behind their opponents.

“However, this is a great game for them.” Watford is in dreadful form and is finding it difficult to score goals. “I envision United winning 2-0 with ease.”

Manchester United is in sixth place in the Premier League rankings, nine points behind leaders Chelsea FC. They are also five points behind Liverpool FC in fourth place.

On Tuesday night, the Red Devils will return to Champions League action as they travel to Villarreal for a group round match.
