Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been recalled to Manchester United’s starting lineup for this afternoon’s game against Leeds.
Diogo Dalot has been good in the right-back position, but Ralf Rangnick may have chosen his team with the midweek encounter with Atletico Madrid in mind.
The conditions were extremely difficult to play in, with rain pouring down and slowing passes as they traveled across the surface.
Wan-Bissaka, on the other hand, stood up admirably to Leeds’ tenacity and was ably aided by the more defensively oriented Jesse Lingard on the right before being substituted by striker Anthony Elanga.
According to WhoScored, he was significantly involved and had the most touches of any player on the field for either side (70).
His four interceptions were more than any other player in a red shirt as he attempted to prevent Leeds from producing their typical overloads down the wings.
Nobody in red made more tackles than Wan-three, Bissaka’s as his customary talent in that area shone through on an afternoon when sliding challenges were the norm.

There were three clearances as well – only Victor Lindelof made more in Rangnick’s side – and a rare shot on goal for the defender.
The performance was not flawless, but it provided Rangnick plenty of food for thought ahead of the crucial match against Atletico Madrid.
United may need to defend more on the night, and Wan-Bissaka would be the more conservative option away from European hope.
The German will desire competition for positions, and even if Dalot returns immediately, the fact that Wan-Bissaka performed well when called upon should guarantee the Portuguese defender maintains his high standards.
This was not an easy game for any United player, and it must have been even more difficult for anyone coming in without much match fitness, but Wan-Bissaka, 24, performed admirably.
