Manchester United has allegedly completed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji.
The Switzerland international has proven his worth in the Bundesliga, and it’s no surprise that his form appears to have piqued the curiosity of Manchester United following their dismal season.
The Red Devils have been far from their best this season, and they are now in danger of missing out on Champions League participation as Arsenal leads the race to finish in the top four.
According to Fichajes, this might result in a big reconstruction project at Old Trafford, with Akanji already “locked up” for the club as a replacement for the out-of-form Harry Maguire.
Akanji appears to have more pace and quality on the ball than Maguire, with the former Leicester City man never appearing to be suited to the style required to play for a bigger team.
Bild has previously connected Akanji with a move to Manchester United, with Ralf Rangnick potentially playing a key part in bringing the 26-year-old to the club.
