Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United star, has disclosed the heartbreaking death of his infant son, who died shortly after his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to twin boys and girls.
Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed the untimely death of his baby son, who was born to long-term companion Georgina Rodriguez as twin boys and girls.
In a joint statement signed by the parents, he said on Instagram: “It is with great regret that we must inform you that our baby boy has died. It is the most agonizing pain that any parent can experience.
“Only our baby girl’s birth has given us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and nurses for their outstanding care and assistance. We are all crushed by this loss and respectfully want privacy during this terrible time.
“You are our angel, our beautiful child. We shall always cherish you.”
Ronaldo disclosed the couple was having twins in an Instagram post in October, which read: “We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting twins.
The couple then revealed in December that they were expecting a boy and a girl in a gender-reveal video that included their other children.

The now-heartbreaking video shows the four children popping balloons packed with both blue and pink confetti.
After Georgina had given them a countdown, the two boys said, ‘It’s a boy,’ and the two girls said, ‘It’s a girl,’ with Ronaldo adding the message, “Where life begins and love never ends.”
Georgina, who is from Argentina, met Ronaldo in 2016 while working as a Gucci shop assistant during his tenure with Real Madrid.
She has since been close to Ronaldo’s older children, Cristiano Jr, 11, and twins Mateo and Eva, four.
Georgina has a four-year-old daughter named Alana before becoming pregnant with twins last year.
Georgina, 28, had described her partner as the best dad in the world as they awaited their new arrivals a few weeks ago.
She had remarked of the 37-year-old on Instagram: “Every day spent with you is joyful and memorable.
“We will always love you. Thank you very much to the best father on the planet.”
