Garnacho was born in Spain and joined United two years ago from Atletico Madrid. Garnacho was a member of Argentina’s Under-18 team, although he is eligible to play for Argentina because of his mother, and he recently switched allegiances.

Garnacho, 17, is yet to make his senior United debut, but he was unexpectedly called up to Argentina’s national team for the international break following some outstanding performances at youth level. Garnacho has played a significant role in United’s run to the FA Youth Cup final this season, scoring four goals in four games, and he is swiftly establishing himself as a key figure in the academy.

Garnacho is one of seven adolescents who have been called up to Argentina’s national team this week. They will practice with the senior team over the next few days while simultaneously working with Javier Mascherano’s U20 team.

As a result, Garnacho has had the opportunity to train alongside Messi, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, and other great.

On Wednesday night, the United kid posted a photo of himself with Messi, describing him as his ‘hero.’ When asked about his unexpected participation in Argentina’s squad, Garnacho stated that he had been ‘dreaming’ of this moment.

“I’ve always wanted to be a part of a squad with stars of this caliber and learn a lot from them,” Garnacho added.

“Being able to share a squad with some of my boyhood idols is a dream come true, therefore I’m going to take advantage of it to progress [as a footballer].” Similarly, I am usually energized because I am doing what I enjoy, which is football.”
