Iqbal met the Brazil international during a Puma sponsorship event, and the United prospect posted the photo on Instagram.

This comes on the heels of Iqbal receiving another international call-up to Iraq’s national team.

This comes on the heels of Iqbal receiving another international call-up to Iraq’s national team.

Iqbal made his Iraq debut earlier in 2022, coming in as a replacement against Iran and later Lebanon.

Over the next two weeks, he will join the squad for qualifiers against the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

First, he might play for Manchester United’s under-23s against Everton on Friday night. He played in Tuesday night’s 3-0 loss to Leeds, and the squad will be eager to make amends for that dismal result, their first defeat in six games.

Iqbal, 18, is in his debut season as an under-23 player and has two goals in 16 appearances. He has also scored in the EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League.

The highlight of his rookie season was a cameo appearance as a replacement in the Champions League against Young Boys in December, where he played the final few minutes alongside fellow debutant Charlie Savage.

While the appearance appears to be a one-off, if United’s season truly goes off the rails, as it appears to be doing, Ralf Rangnick may contemplate ‘playing the kids’ as a way to liven things up.

In order for him to do so, the under-23s must perform well and provide him with further reasons to bring them up by putting in great performances of their own.
