THE DETAILS: TEN HAG’S PREFERRED CANDIDATE

Old Trafford is set to undergo a summer of transition, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick anticipated to transition into a consulting role.

One of his first major jobs appears to be assisting the club in its hunt for a new long-term manager, with trusted writer Samuel Luckhurst claiming Ajax head Erik ten Hag is the club’s favored managerial choice at the moment.

However, just hours after, an update on Tuchel came, with the Red Devils reportedly keen on wooing the German away from Stamford Bridge.

PLETTENBERG’S LATEST POST

Plettenberg, a Sky Germany correspondent, rushed to Twitter on Thursday lunchtime to deliver an update on Tuchel.

He confirmed that United has made an inquiry for the Blues manager, but Tuchel is not considering a move to Old Trafford at the moment.

“Tuchel’s Update: Yes, MUFC is interested owing to Chelsea’s uncertain future. They’ve asked about him. Tuchel, on the other hand, adores the club, wishes to remain at CFC, and his family is content in London. He hasn’t considered a move to Manchester United.”

THE VERDICT: IS THIS ONE TO WATCH?

Because of the scenario, Chelsea is in as a result of recent sanctions against Roman Abramovich, Jamie Carragher recently urged that United pursue Tuchel.

It appears that they are considering doing just that, and if things do not improve in London, Tuchel may consider going north in the summer.

In any case, it’s encouraging to see that United is thinking ahead and aren’t putting all of their eggs in Ten Hag’s basket, so a move for Tuchel could be something to keep an eye on in the coming months.
