Manchester United player ratings: Anthony Elanga and Nemanja Matic good vs Atletico Madrid

Manchester United player ratings
David De Gea
He got off to a shaky start as he failed to come off his line, struck the stands, and nearly mishandled a goal kick. 5
Victor Lindelof.
The trial began inexplicably at right-back, and the results were far from encouraging. Down Lindelof’s side, Atletico was at their most dangerous. 4
Varane Raphael
Varane was booed before the game, and he was hardly blameless for United’s shoddy first-half performance. In the second half,he recovered, but it was a night to forget. 5
Harry Maguire
When Joao Felix was on his toes for the opening goal, despite a fantastic cross and header, he was on his heels. After the break, things will be a lot better. 5
Luke Shaw.
There is no discernible impact on either end, and his form is nowhere near that of an automatic selection. 5
Fred
Relocated to the base of the midfield, where he was frequently suffocated in a loose space. When he has performed well in the past, he has inevitably declined. 4
Paul Pogba.
He lingered too long on the ball and fell short of his pal Geoffrey Kondogbia, who commanded the middle. I’m hooked once more. 3
Bruno Fernandes
Sloppy with the ball and increasingly irritable, which aggravated the situation. It took a lot of work to find Elanga for the equalizer. 6
Marcus Rashford
Rashford returns to the right side of the field, where he dislikes playing. I tried but failed to make an impression, so I became selfish. 3
Sancho Jadon
He was a hard worker, but the majority of his frantic sprinting was in the wrong direction. On both flanks, there was a struggle for space. 5
Cristiano Ronaldo
Due to a lack of service, he became frustrated and showed no signs of regaining his composure or scoring against a side against which he had previously scored two hat-tricks. 4
Subs
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Was able to make an opening.6
Telles Alex
He brought energy to the game 6
Matic Nemanja
He brought balance to the midfield. 7
Elanga Anthony
Brilliantly equalised. 8
Lingard Jesse
He barely saw a ball. 5
Manager
The right-back experiment clearly failed, and he chose a very loose midfield, both of which he essentially admitted with a belated triple change. His changes, though, made a difference once more. 6
