Another alleged episode of racial abuse by a supporter inside the Mestalla had incensed Vinicius. The 22-year-old made an effort to find the person, but it led to a fight between the two teams of players.

He kept pointing at the offender in the stands, apparently incensed. His Madrid teammates and Valencia opponents tried to step in.

The Mestalla screen allegedly included a message warning spectators against throwing anything onto the field. It also urged supporters not to ‘insult’ players.

Behind the goal, a number of Valencia fans could be seen being yelled at by Vinicius and other Madrid players. After speaking with the attacker, referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea alerted the fourth official and stadium manager to the event.

With people like Antonio Rudiger observed attempting to calm down their colleagues, tensions finally seemed to be simmering. Before starting again with the free kick Vinicius had won before the incident, the play had been stopped for well over two minutes.

15 minutes later, in a different incident, Vinicius became involved in a fight that led to his dismissal after a VAR review. The cause of the brawl was initially unknown, but referee Bengoetxea issued yellow cards to two Valencia players before speaking with the other officials.

Vinicius appeared to grip the Madrid attacker around the neck before pushing Valencia striker Duro in the face, according to replays. To the chagrin of Real, Duro was not punished for the event.

Vinicius, who received his first red card in La Liga history, mock-applauded the official before furiously addressing him. The Brazilian international was spotted being pulled toward the tunnel by Rudiger.

Vinicius’ marching instructions received enthusiastic applause from the home crowd. In response, he made the gesture of a two, maybe alluding to Valencia’s struggle to avoid being demoted to the Segundo Division.

This season, Vinicius has experienced numerous racial taunts. La Liga has already reported eight different occurrences involving the Madrid winger to the local police.
