Sheikh Jassim to make an improved offer to Manchester United A Qatari delegation met with United management.

According to reports, the banker’s bid has an advantage over INEOS.

WHAT OCCURED? According to the Daily Mail, Sheikh Jassim bin Hasan Al Thani is likely to launch a second bid for Manchester United. On Thursday, a party representing the Sheikh met with club officials at Old Trafford in the next round of United’s selling process, with negotiations spanning 10 hours.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: United has invited interested parties to visit the club in order to gain a better understanding of the club’s financial status, and growth opportunities, and to discuss the reconstruction of Old Trafford and the training complex. On Friday, a delegation from INEOS, the Sheikh’s major opponent in the bid to buy United, is set to pay a visit.

However, according to The Guardian, banker Al Thani, the son of Qatar’s former prime minister, is the favorite to acquire United ahead of INEOS due to the possible economic opportunities for the Glazer family as a result of the agreement.

MANCHESTER UNITED: WHAT COMES NEXT? The Red Devils face Fulham in the FA Cup final eight on Sunday, but the planned acquisition of the club is expected to take some time. Yet, there have been reports that the Glazers want to complete the process before the summer transfer season opens.
