He insisted that Solskjaer should be sacked by Man Utd
Rio Ferdinand has reiterated his prior remarks that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be fired.
“Things aren’t going well, therefore perhaps a change is required to improve things.”
United has lost four of their first 11 Premier League games, and they are now in sixth place, nine points behind league leaders Chelsea.
In recent months, Ferdinand has been critical of Solskjaer, criticizing him following the Champions League defeat to Young Boys in September, as well as the club’s decision to give Phil Jones a new deal.
Former Manchester United and England defender Phil Jones believes it is time for the Norwegian to go Old Trafford, adding that he “would leave with his head held high.”
Although many people disagree with Ferdinand’s viewpoint, including former teammate Gary Neville, the 43-year-old has stated that he feels Solskjaer should be fired.

Ferdinand was questioned on BT Sport how ‘tough’ it was to call for the Norwegian’s dismissal, and he confessed that he didn’t find it difficult at all.
He stated, ” “If I’m being honest, it wasn’t. Some of my acquaintances and friends have told me that it’s difficult, that ‘you can’t do that.’
“We’re all ready to talk about players; ‘oh, players should be out the window,’ I hear people say, ‘he should never wear the shirt again.’
“It has to be the same with the managers; I’m not saying I love suggesting a manager should lose his job; I’m simply stating that things aren’t going well, and perhaps a change is required if things are to improve.
“That’s simply an honest appraisal of it, and that’s what I’m paid to do, whether its buddies, old teammates, or strangers, treat them all the same.”
Ferdinand was then asked why no other former United players have advocated for the manager’s dismissal.
He said, ” “I don’t know, everyone deals with situations differently, and I believe you should accept that. I respect that other people have different ways of doing things and that their thoughts and approaches to this scenario differ, but that’s life, and it’s the same in all aspects of life.
“I see it the way I see it, and I’ll stand by it; I’m quite comfortable and confident in expressing myself.”
