According to the Daily Star, Ronaldo faces a £1 million punishment because the club wants to send a clear message to the Portugal international that his behavior was inappropriate.

According to the source, the fine is equivalent to two weeks’ earnings, and he will be required to apologize to his Manchester United teammates for refusing to enter the field against Antonio Conte’s side.

The 20-time English champions are reportedly prepared to transfer Ronaldo in January, but there are currently no takers.

Ronaldo was spotted coming into the tunnel with Spurs late in the game, and it was initially thought that Erik ten Hag had ignored him for an appearance.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, acknowledged at his press conference on Friday afternoon that he had wanted to utilize the former Sporting Lisbon teenager, who declined to play.

Ronaldo will now miss the match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but he is expected to return to training next week in preparation for the Europa League match against Sheriff Tiraspol.

The attacker has only scored twice for Manchester United this season, and his contract at Old Trafford is set to expire in June, with an extension looking improbable at this point.

According to a recent source, Manchester United was willing to let Ronaldo depart over the summer, but the club did not receive a single inquiry from a European club.

In addition to Ronaldo, the Red Devils will be without Anthony Martial for Saturday’s match against Chelsea owing to a back injury.

As a result, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony might form Ten Hag’s front three, hoping to build on their two-goal victory over Tottenham.

Ronaldo is said to have told Manchester United in early July that he intended to depart during the summer in order to compete in the Champions League this season.

Despite being linked with Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, the transfer window closed with the forward remaining in Manchester.
