Manchester United fans bemused by Amad decision in Rangers Europa League final loss
Amad, on loan from Manchester United, did not play a single minute of this year’s campaign after being snubbed in the Rangers’ Europa League final loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Manchester United fans were taken aback by Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s decision not to bring on Amad in the Rangers’ Europa League final penalty shootout loss to Frankfurt.
The teenager did not play a single minute of his loan club’s voyage to the final and was benched. The striker has had a difficult time in Scotland, with only minimal game time.
There were speculations that Van Bronckhorst wanted to end his loan deal early, but Amad has appeared in all six of his club’s league games since then. However, when it came to European nights, the 19-year-old was disregarded.
Last season, in United’s Last 16 match against AC Milan, the teenager scored. He was on the bench when United fell on penalties to Villarreal in last year’s final, making him a runner-up for the second year in a row.
United supporters were perplexed as to why Amad was not given a chance in Wednesday’s final. During the game, some users resorted to Twitter to vent their anger.
No bias but Amad would genuinely cook in this game bc Rangers get so many counter attacking opportunities. He should be coming on if they wanna win
