‘I’m not playing’: Ben Foster state Man Utd EPL finishing position in 2023/24 if $60m star join this summer

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster forecasts a difficult season for Erik ten Hag's Red Devils in 2023/24.

The goalie for Wrexham spoke to The United Stand about his projections for the forthcoming season.

Unlike former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp, who told The Sun that Manchester United will win the league this season, Foster expects a more difficult season.

Foster, 40, played for United between 2005 and 2010, and he appeared in preseason versus United’s under-21 team earlier this summer.

Manchester United’s ending place is predicted by Ben Foster.

Because of the strength of the Premier League chasing pack, Ben Foster feels Manchester United will struggle to finish in the top four.

He said City are “100%” certain to finish in the top four, while Arsenal are “90%,” and he lumped everyone else, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Brighton, in with them.

“I think it’s going to be really tough,” Foster continued. I believe they will take fourth place. I’m not kidding when I say that’s a great season.

“I’m aiming for a top-four finish; if they get Harry Kane, they’ll finish second.”

He also stated that, while he loves new addition Rasmus Hojlund, he doesn’t believe he has much of an impact this early in his career.

“It sounds bad because £60 million is a lot of money, but it’s the cheapest option,” Foster explained. I truly hope he hits the ground running.”

He also believes Marcus Rashford will be the season’s top scorer and predicts a run to the Champions League knockout rounds.

United requires a swift start.

Manchester United’s away form was poor last season, with the club losing at practically every other big club and just drawing at Tottenham.

Fixing United’s dismal away form must be a priority, with two away games against Tottenham and Arsenal in the opening four games.

Getting early results in these games will make a big statement. If both are lost, Foster may be correct in his assessment that United will be fighting for a spot in the top four.
