United have experienced a quiet January window thus far, with no fresh additions made amid the uncertainty surrounding their manager’s position. Instead, the Red Devils have concentrated on exits from Old Trafford.

Following his troubles for form and minutes, Anthony Martial has gone on loan to Sevilla. Amad Diallo and Axel Tuanzebe have both found new temporary homes at Napoli and Rangers, respectively.

United will most likely be much busier before Monday’s transfer deadline. Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard could go for other Premier League clubs.

Jones, though, is one player who could quit the Red Devils, according to L’Equipe (via Sport Witness).

Bordeaux have begun talks with United about signing the 29-year-old centre-back.

Throughout the January transfer window, the Ligue 1 club has been looking for a new center-back. To make room, they had to move players off their wage bill and squad.

And they’ve just done it. Otavio, a Brazilian defensive midfielder, has joined Atletico Miniero. Meanwhile, English attacker Josh Maja is nearing a loan transfer to Stoke City with a purchase option.

Phil Jones is a possible transfer target for Bordeaux.
As a result, Jones has emerged as a’serious’ transfer target for Bordeaux. He would be their second signing at the back this month, following the arrival of 34-year-old central defender Marcelo from Lyon.

Jones only recently returned to the lineup after missing over 700 days due to injuries.

Despite this, he is far down the United centre-back pecking order. The club’s first-choice partnership is Harry Maguire and last summer’s arrival Raphael Varane.

The main challengers behind the duo are Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly. As a result, Jones may want to relaunch his career by moving across Europe to a new environment.

At this point, it is unknown whether Bordeaux is looking for a loan or a permanent transfer. It’s also uncertain whether Rangnick would approve Jones’ departure, given that he’s previously allowed fellow defender Tuanzebe to remain on loan.

According to the report, the fee is £15 million.

Bordeaux are apparently interested in signing Jones, although they may not be able to afford him right now.

Earlier this month, it was reported that United had set a £15 million asking price for his services.

His contract is up in 18 months. However, there is the opportunity to extend it for another year.

Despite this, he has struggled for minutes due to injury, and it is unknown whether the Red Devils will offer him a new contract.
